So question is what am i?

Recently i have been working very hard on just the modeling process, rather than any animation, which i still want to do and further explore. I think its something to do with patience. People who know me, would probably understand how i get quite mad when Maya crashes, or when just planly slows down a hell of a lot.

I think i really have developed an eye for the 3D space, and can work on something and would be able to tell if something is right or not with the model. Im still learning of course :) (after a 3 years or so of first meeting my friend Maya). I feel i have been inspired by a lot of stuff recently, by whats on TV, to stuff thats in creative magazines and also certain competitions that i really want to have a go at entering! Which of course, I have been working on some character designs and thinking up some short and sweet comical gags at the same time not too complex.

I feel i want to be at a stage where my models are so heavily detailed, you can pick out every crease and fold. But still at the same time, i want to be creating short films that make people laugh and cry. I think i need to learn how to be Jack Bauer, and give up on sleeping. Anyway still multitasking away making stuff, designing stuff, dreaming stuff.

So question is what am i? The answer the same as it always was before: I am only human, who wants to dable in everything that is 3D! :p

Sony 3D competition

http://sonycompetition.3dworldmag.com/enter/

I am actualy seriously thinking about entering this (believe it or not!)

For some time i have been quite interested in this new developing 3D technology. As it has evolved from old techniques, it has now come into the HD age. I believe it will be a success, as it will make HD films more in depth and involved than what they already are. As some films that have been released at the cinema in 3D, i have viewed and realised this. 3D should not always be used as a gimick, like litterally throw things at the audience, instead i feel it helps the audience feel a lot more focused on the film itself, as you zero in well into the detail. The end thought, is a rather absorbed feeling, like you were part of the film and perhaps you have taken some form of a aphroddesiac. This is why i am excited and seriously thinking about entering this competition.

The competition requires an CG/3D animated short film to show off on the new 3D products that are beeing released

We’re looking for stereoscopic 3D shorts made to work with active shutter technology (ie NOT red-blue anaglyph). Each video sequence should, preferable, be around 5-10 minutes in length. However, if you have a shorter sequence (that’s suitably impressive) we’ll still be willing to consider it for inclusion

Im quite excited about this, all i need to do is think up a good story for a  short, make a good ananmatic, and then start making it. For this i really will try hard to finalise a quick comical short, before i touch my PC! I have got a few idea so far, so im gunna brain storm away.

LCB Surgery Centre - Work currently in progress

Simply from CAD plans (2D blueprints only), i have been working on this pre-visulisation for a building project, as to imagine what the design would look in 3D, inside and out.

So far i feel it going quite well, managed to put some trees and bushes in there, which originally slowed the rendering. So i made them into planes, rotated and duplicated in a circle fashion. They are low rez trees, which seem to cast realistic shadow, and now renders very quickly! So pleased about that. It is a game enviroment technique i know, but to be honest, i still think you can get a lot of detail out of them, despite them being planes and not millions of extra polygons!

As for the inside, i am only detailing 3 rooms, and with the right lighting (inside lighting is pain to get right!) should come out ok. So far so good, the client is very happy, which is a very good thing i guess!

Buisness Cards - Series 2

Currently designing some, i feel like i need more designs.

My idea is simple, i am trying to make a buisness card which shows the folowing; 3D modeler, digital artist/ graphic design and animator (have not done that one yet), so i can cover as much digital design categories as posible, and hand out the right buisness card acordingly. Good idea? Well i hope so, also doing this is helping me practice some more graphic design (i hope!), and I could add these to my graphic design portfolio.

I am actually at the stage, where i might just break the logo barier (the elegant motion logo), and make that more apart of the design, rather than just keeping it in the same place constantly, that way there is much more posibilities of ideas i can execute, without beeing restrained. I intend to have fair few amount of designs, at least more than 20 maybe.

Here are some orthographic and perspective views of a product thats part of an enterprise designed for people with needs for access. I didnt design this, i simply remade it from an existing design that i was given, these are some high rez images for the main site. The actual animation is on the site as well, which will be updated with a blue cayana (the robot) version, as before it was red.

Just some 3D titles i made for a presentation. Im pretty proud of them despite how simple they are. Also the continuity and theme is there, which makes them uniform with each other.

currently still mapping and texturing scene objects. about half done. i intend to make a few dirt layer/ scratch layers etc.

A self directed project that im working on. A short film about a guy training and excersizing before he gets posted out to war. Its more like another ‘Episode’ than a short film. Hopefully itl test my character animation skills, practice etc. So far its called ‘The Gym’, but i might come up with a better one later on down the line.

This is just the set.

Been working on the house, rather pleased with it so far, not sure to go for a toon like outline, and if so, for it to be ‘ofset’, so it looks ‘scribly’/sketchy.
